A trio of thieves steals a scroll that bestows onto its bearer ownership of the Aurocastro territory in Apulia (south of Italy). They choose a shaggy knight named Brancaleone from Norcia to lead them, and they resolve to take control of this ostensibly prosperous kingdom. Throughout the journey, there will be several adventures.
