The King and the Mockingbird
The kingdom of Takicardie quakes under the rule of the tyrannical King Charles V-et-III-font-VIII-et-VIII-font-XIV, whose favourite hobby is birds. His archenemy is the king's efforts to shoot birds are being thwarted by a smart mockingbird, whose favourite pastime. A portrait of the king comes into life and dumps the king, shooting his place one night. The portrait man falls in love and intends to wed her. But, alas, the shepherdess has fallen in love with a chimneysweep and they elope from the king's palace. The king sends his authorities and once they are within his power he compels the shepherdess to wed him. The mockingbird must work with guts and all of his guile bring his wicked reign to an end and then to thwart the king.
