Amistad

Back in 1839, the slave ship Amistad set sail from Cuba to America. During the trip, Cinque directs the slaves in an unprecedented uprising. They are then held prisoner in Connecticut, and also their discharge becomes the topic of debate. Freed slave Theodore Joadson wants Cinque and Realtors land lawyer Roger Baldwin to help his case and the others exonerated. Eventually, John Quincy Adams becomes an ally.
