Gavagai

Carsten Neuer, a German businessman, travels to Norway to complete his late wife's impossible translation of certain Norwegian poetry by Tarjei Vesaas into Chinese. He hires Niko, a down-on-his-luck tour guide, to take him to the poet's home and other locations of inspiration in order to encourage his own translation. On the journey, Carsten encounters the spirit of his wife, while Niko struggles with the unexpected pregnancy of his girlfriend. Two very different men discover the transformative power of love, the limitations of language, and the universal desire for friendship on their voyage.
