Nick Koenig, aka Hot Sugar, is at a wreck that is hot. Considered a modernday Mozart, the young records sounds from everyday life--from dangling receivers that are pay phone to Hurricane Sandy rain--and then rebounds, samples and loops them to grammy-award --nominated beats. He's living the life every musician dreams of, detailed with an internet-phenom girlfriend, rapper/singer"Kitty." But if he is dumped by her Hot Sugar is set adrift. Fleeing into Paris, he attempts to regroup, trying to find an awareness of self and also new sounds. Filmmaker Adam Lough combines scenes of Hot Sugar at work on his vintage recording apparatus with surprising reflections he offers to this camera.
