Love's Whirlpool

At a fancy split-level condo in Tokyo's Roppongi nightlife neighborhood, 4 men and four women gather from midnight. They have all paid to be there (men over women), plus they've only one thing in common--they hunt unidentified sex. Using no titles, they truly are known only by these types: freeter (temp or part time worker), mild mannered salaryman, duplicitous OL (office lady), shy functioning class factory worker, perfectionist teacher, veteran pervert, shy NEET ("not in education, training or employment") and shy faculty student. Together, they exude their identities in a nighttime of debauchery. Daisuke Miura's adaptation of the critically acclaimed 2005 play of the exact identical name explores Japan's fuzoku (sex industry) with depth, comedy as well as free-wheeling indecency. This disturbing, erotic and surprising film features breakout performances by Sosuke Ikematsu and Mugi Kadowaki, who are enticed to mix love.
