Ocean of Pearls

As a Sikh person with turban and the full beard, AMRIT SINGH is most the mark of racial profiling. However, if he sees his own dreams of becoming Chief of Surgery at a new transplant centre because of his appearance, Amrit goes against a convention he has maintained his entire life and blows off on his own hair. Hiding this decision from family and his girlfriend in Toronto is just the beginning of a collection of compromises Amrit finds himself earning as he copes with hospital politics and healthcare injustices. Amrit begins to reevaluate the worthiness of the religious traditions he had turned his back on when his compromises end at a patient's death.
