Under cover cop Jim Raynor (Jason Patric) is a veteran veteran. His wife, Kristen Cates (Jennifer Jason Leigh), is lacking in experience, however he thinks she is tough enough to work his next case with him: a deep cover assignment to create down the infamously hard-to-capture drug lord Gaines (Gregg Allman). While their relationship turns romantic during the assignment they will need to combat their addictions should they would like to create down Gaines once and for everybody, also develop into junkies.
