Solarbabies

At a long run in we look for a set of kids, mostly teenagers, who are living at an orphanage, run by the Earth's despotic rulers. The group involved is quite great and plays with a baseball established game on rollerskates. It's given them a unity which transcends the efforts to bring them to heel. Obtaining an orb of special power, they find it has unusual effects on these. They escape from the orphanage (on skates) and try to cross the wasteland looking for a place they are able to live free whilst the storm-troopers seek out these and also the orb.
