Sworn Brothers

In the thrilling triad saga Sworn Brothers, superstars Andy Lau and Cheung Kwok Keung play blood-brothers who do all to stop the evil they believe is threatening their family. Despite his "evil" reputation, triad enforcer Lau (Andy Lau) is actually the sworn brother of Cheung (Cheung Kwok Keung), a recently returned Royal Hong Kong Police officer from Scotland Yard. Despite being on opposite sides of the law, the two men enjoy an unbreakable friendship that has stood the test of time and ideological divide. Is it possible that these two good men working together may make the underworld a better place? Sworn Brothers is an outstanding triad action-drama in a genre already stuffed with similar films thanks to the riveting performance of Tung Piu (Jackie Chan's Police Story flicks) as a corrupt cop and the film's many explosive action sequences. Sworn Brothers nails the action-drama sweet spot in exciting and violent fashion, with strong melodrama and the kind of heightened emotions typical of many successful Hong Kong films of the 1980s.
