The Girl with No Number

Phuong Ly, a poor but lovely Vietnamese woman, falls in love with a handsome, compassionate, and affluent guy who want to marry her. Her life appears to be perfect until her boyfriend's mother sabotages their relationship on purpose. Phuong Ly moves to Ho Chi Minh City, heartbroken and frail, to work as a cleaner at a marriage bureau. Mitch, one of the males seeking an arranged marriage, is one of the men she meets there. He develops a deep interest in her and coerces her into marrying him by promising to support her family in Vietnam and to provide her with a better life. Phuong Ly quickly discovers, however, that she has been sent to America as a slave. She is abused and violated with no chance of escape. The only ray of hope she finds is a bond she forms with the American's young, autistic niece; both of them are prisoners on the run.
