The Last Tycoon

Set in Shanghais Gangster era of the early 1900s,'' the past TYCOON informs the story of CHENG (Chow Yun-Fat), a young man who's placed up by the chief of police (Sammo Hung) and has to leave the life he knows and QIU (Monica Mok), the girl he loves, to begin. Violently and fast moves his way up the ladder of Shanghais criminal underworld to become to the mob bosses in Shanghais history after escaping prison CHENG. But popularity and notoriety simply take their toll when CHENG finds himself stuck between the Japanese army and the scheming local spy support. Things are only compounded if he lumps in to the love of his life QIU, together with her husband. Will like re-kindle in the dusk of an era?
