The Legend of Johnny Lingo

When a storm washes a canoe birthing an infant young boy onto land upon a little South Pacific island, he goes to first well-received as a present from the heavens, even to the point of the tribal chief adopting him as a follower. However, with time as difficulties are blamed upon Tama (as he is called), he is ultimately castaway to live with the poorest individuals on the island, Mahana and also her drunken daddy.
