The Other Side of Heaven

John H. Groberg, a middle class kid from Idaho Falls, crosses the Pacific to become Mormon missionary from the remote and exotic Tongan island kingdom during the 1950's. He leaves behind a loving family and the love of his own life, Jean. During letters and musings over the kilometers, John shares his humbling and sometimes hilarious adventures together with"your ex back ", and her letters buoy his spirits up occasionally. John must fight to overcome language barriers, physical hardship and also suspicion to earn the confidence and enjoy their Tongan people he's come to function. He discovers friends and wisdom .
