Barrier Master

Yellow Tanabe wrote and drew the supernatural manga series Kekkaishi. Shogakukan serialized it in the manga magazine Shnen Sunday from 2003 to 2011, and Viz Media licensed it for an English-language distribution in North America. Sunrise turned it into a 52-episode anime series, which aired between October 2006 and February 2008. Yoshimori Sumimura and Tokine Yukimura, heirs of competing lines of kekkai users, must protect their school from ghosts drawn to the hallowed soil on which it is situated. Kekkaishi won the Shogakukan Manga Award for shnen manga in 2007.
