Ellen

Ellen is a American television sitcom which aired on the ABC network from March 29, 1994 to July 22, 1998, consisting of 109 events. Ellen Morgan's title role, played by comedian Ellen DeGeneres, was a neurotic bookstore owner in her thirties. The show dedicated to Ellen's dealing with her loved ones her unique friends and the problems of life. The show is renowned for being the first person where the main character came out as homosexual, which DeGeneres' character did at the 1997 episode"Puppy Episode". This event prompted ABC to put a civic advisory, and received a fantastic deal of media exposure controversy. The series' theme song,"So Called Friend" is by Scottish band Texas. A running gag was that each episode had a opening credits set, leading to Ellen's ongoing look for the opening credits.
