Empty Nest

Empty-nest is an American sitcom that aired on NBC from 1988. The series was created as a spin-off of The Golden Girls by founder and producer Susan Harris. Empty Nest was one of this year's top ten programs. It was created by Witt/Thomas/Harris Productions in association with Touchstone Television. The show theory introduced some elements from the comedy series Father, Dear Father, too having a father living with large dog and his two daughters. However the two daughters in Nest are self supporting adults, and also the lead character can be just a widower. Empty-nest was a portion of NBC's Saturday night block and throughout its first four seasons it aired at 9:30pm ET, directly following The Golden Girls. The two of those cast were alumni of Susan Harris' prior shows from one. Mulligan has been Manoff's Father in Law in Soap.
