Flipper, from Ivan Tors Films in association with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Television, is a American television program broadcast on NBC from September 19, 1964, until April 15, 1967. A bottlenose dolphin, flipper, is Chief Warden at Coral Key Park and Marine Preserve in Florida, the companion creature of Porter Ricks, along with his 2 sons, Sandy and Bud. The series has been dubbed an"aquatic Lassie", and a significant number of juvenile merchandise motivated by the series was produced during its first-run.
