JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

In the beginning of the story, which takes place in England in the 19th century, a young aristocrat named Jonathan Joestar finds himself embroiled in a fierce competition with a low-born boy named Dio Brando. Jonathan's father took Dio under his wing after the death of Dio's father, and Jonathan's father later adopted Dio as his own son. Dio is dissatisfied with his station in life, and his insatiable desire to rule over everyone and everything eventually compels him to search for the supernatural abilities contained within an ancient Aztec stone mask that is held by the Joestar family. This is the artifact that will irrevocably alter the course of Dio and Jonathan's destinies for many generations to come. Joseph Joestar, Jonathan's grandson, must take up his grandfather's mission fifty years later in 1938 in New York City. He must master the abilities necessary to destroy the stone mask and the immensely powerful creators of the mask, the Pillar men, who pose a threat to the very existence of humanity.
