Max Headroom
Max Headroom is a British-produced American satirical science fiction television series by Chrysalis Visual Programming and Lakeside Productions for Lorimar-Telepictures that ran from March 1987 to May 1988 on ABC. Based on the British television pilot Max Headroom: 20 Minutes into the Future, which Chrysalis produced for Channel 4, the series was created. Due to the locale, the nearly all American cast, and ABC's airing in the United States, the series is frequently misidentified as an American production. The UK pilot was followed by a six-week run of highlights from The Max Headroom Show, a music video show in which Headroom appears between music videos, on Cinemax. ABC was intrigued by the pilot and requested Chrysalis/Lakeside to create the series for American audiences. In season one, there were six episodes, and in season two, there were eight. Production of the show began in late 1986.
