Pagan Peak

When a gruesomely staged body is discovered near the German-Austrian border on a mountain pass in the Alps, two detectives are dispatched to investigate. This is the first major challenge of Ellie's career as a German investigator, although her Austrian colleague Gedeon appears to have lost interest in his work. They quickly discover further crime scenes with victims positioned in a manner suggestive to pagan rituals. All of this appears to be part of a larger, evil scheme. Ellie is under growing pressure to comprehend the psychopath's motivations in order to stop him. The hunt drives them deeper into the dark valleys and antiquated Alpine customs - and into the killer's paranoid world.
