Suspense
Suspense is an American television anthology series which ran on CBS Television from 1949. This was adapted from the radio app of the identical name which ran from 1942. Like many television programs that were early, the series was broadcast live from new york. The Auto-Lite business sponsored This, and each episode was introduced by sponsor Rex Marshall, who promoted Auto-Lite spark plugs, car batteries, tractors, as well as automobile parts.
While some were first original for television, some of the early scripts were adapted by Suspense radio broadcasts. Much like the radio programbroadcasts were adaptations of literary classics from writers. Vintage writers like Edgar Allan Poe, Agatha Christie, and Charles Dickens had stories accommodated for the series, while authors like Roald Dahl and Gore Vidal also donated. Many noteworthy actors emerged such as Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi, Franchot Tone, Robert Emhardt, Leslie Nielsen, Lloyd Bridges, and a Lot More.
